Cayce Pollard - inspired by the character from Pattern Recognition by William Gibson, is the second in my mini-series, Gibson Girls.
Possibly the most iconic of Gibson’s heroines and probably my favorite, Cayce has been been illustrated by many artists. It always struck me as odd is that drawings of her tend to look like teenagers, when she is thirty-two years old during the events of the book. Me, I picture her like this: lithe, a bit tired, with a warm expression and big, smart eyes - like a younger Charlotte Gainsbourg.
Molly Millions, the first drawing of the bunch, can be seen here.
